Silk Hope - Bow a la Veronika

The Veronika-style bow keeps the crown covered and creates a statement bow at the side of the head with long, loose points.

What you will need

  • a 90 × 90 cm square silk scarf
  • a small, thin elastic band
  • a mirror
  • Time: about 3 minutes

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Place the scarf over your head. Fold the scarf into a triangle, position the long edge above your forehead and spread the fabric over the crown.

  2. Move the points to one side. Take the two long points to the same side of your head just above the nape and smooth the scarf around your head.

  3. Secure the base. Join the points with a thin elastic or a firm knot so the base of the bow stays close to your head.

  4. Tie the bow. Create a loop from each point and tie them as a classic bow. Keep the loops above the loose ends.

  5. Finish the shape. Open the bow with your fingers, even the length of the points and tuck the end of the knot into the folds.

Tip

Shape the loops gently and keep holding them at the base. This prevents the silk from slipping through the knot.
