One-shoulder top
One silk scarf, so many possibilities. With a square 90 × 90 cm silk scarf you can create an original asymmetric one-shoulder top in just a few minutes. An elegant way to wear your scarf as part of an outfit as well as an accessory.
What you will need
- a square 90 × 90 cm silk scarf
- a mirror
- Time: approximately 2 minutes
Step-by-step instructions
- Fold the scarf into a triangle. Fold the square scarf in half diagonally.
- Place it against the front of your body. Place the long edge of the triangle across your chest and bring both side corners around your body to the back.
- Tie the scarf at the back. Tie the two corners in a single knot at the back to hold the scarf around your torso.
- Turn the scarf. Turn the scarf to the side so it covers your bust and the knot sits under your arm.
- Tie the corners on your shoulder. Tie both corners on your shoulder to create an asymmetric top with one silk strap.
- Secure the strap. You can tie the knot on your shoulder, or tie it in your hands and then slip it on. Make sure it will not loosen while you wear it.
- Adjust the top. Finally, gently adjust the gathers and the length of the front corner for a comfortable fit.
Tip
Do not pull the silk tighter than necessary. The top should stay securely in place while retaining its natural softness and drape. Tie the shoulder knot securely, so it does not come undone as you move.
