In the hair

Pirate chic

Pirate chic is a simple way to tie a silk scarf on your head, with a knot at the back or slightly to one side.

What you will need

  • a large square silk scarf
  • a mirror

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Fold the scarf into a triangle. Fold the square scarf in half diagonally.
  2. Place the scarf on your head. Place the folded edge against your forehead and spread the triangle over your hair towards the nape of your neck.
  3. Make a small fold. Make a small fold at the top of the scarf to help it stay on your head.
  4. Tie it at the back. Tie the two side corners in a secure double knot at the nape of your neck.
  5. Adjust the finished look. Smooth the fabric and, if you wish, turn the scarf slightly to one side to show more of the pattern.

Tip

Make the small fold at the top before tying, so it does not shift during further adjustments.
