Gathered collar
A gathered collar turns a large silk scarf into a soft, voluminous detail around the neck and neckline.
What you will need
- a large square silk scarf
- a mirror
Step-by-step instructions
- Wrap the scarf around your neck. Place the square scarf around your neck with the front corners pointing forwards.
- Tie the front corners. Join the corners at the front with a double knot, leaving a generous opening beside it.
- Pull the scarf through. Pull the whole lower part of the scarf down through the opening from above.
- Create volume. Guide the fabric behind the knot and gradually pull it down into a soft ruffle.
- Secure the lower ends. Pull the loose ends backwards, tie them at the back and adjust the front collar to your preferred volume.
Tip
Leave the opening at the front knot loose enough to pull the scarf through without unnecessary friction.
